meet the chef

Luca's journey began in Molise, South Central Italy, in a large family where simple, rustic foods were cherished. Surrounded by the natural bounty of his hometown—tomatoes, wild asparagus, peppers, figs, olives, and apples—he developed a deep appreciation for the flavors that the earth provides.

Traveling through Italy and London, Luca refined his culinary skills, absorbing diverse influences before settling in the United States. Working in Chicago, Las Vegas, and South Florida, he finally made his way to Berkeley, California, in 2008, where he was inspired by the local food culture. In January 2011, Luca Cucina Italiana was born out of his passion for simple, fresh, and delicious cooking.

Luca says, "I am happy to share food from my hometown with people that appreciate it.” He invites you to experience the essence of Molise and his culinary journey.

Buon Appetito! Thank you for joining us!
